Rugged Individualism vs Human Nature

Posted by Allama Parwez

"Rugged individualism" is actually a euphemism for Thomas Hobbes' baseless concept of man's natural condition as a war of everyone against everyone else. Even different species of wild animals (each of which has its own group soul, as opposed to humans, which have individual souls) cooperate with one another for their mutual benefit, so Hobbes would have had us believe that mankind is inherently more bestial than the beasts, perhaps explaining the name of the pop "music" group known as the Beastie Boys.

What Is The Difference Between a Pacifist and a Victim?

Posted by Kathryn A. Graham

One of my greatest personal heroes, Robert A. Heinlein, once stated flatly that a male pacifist was a contradiction in terms. Heinlein was a brilliant writer, one hell of a philosopher, and very seldom wrong.

Swastika Law Stupid

Posted by Robert Carberry

New York State has passed another dumb law. This time a new "swastika law" has been passed. Basically, anyone caught defacing property in any way without permission using the Nazi swastika symbol can now get up to four years in jail. Of course, the KKK's burning cross is also included so all of the politically protected groups in New York can celebrate. Now we all can get back to the "regular stuff" of low-down graffiti, cursing, spitting, throwing trash everywhere and good ol' crime. Just make sure you don't burn a cross while doing this or carve out a swastika.

Read This Article If You Want To Stop Government Waste

Are you tired of Congress talking about raising our taxes as they waste our money on garbage and pet projects? These folks could not balance a checkbook if their lives depended on it. We give them this power and the abuse it by wasting the taxpayerÂ’s monies. Every time they make a mistake they spend our money to fix it and then tell us how lucky we are that they are now, this time able to protect us. Is it just me or do we see a pattern here of complete and utter incompetence? If they were a corporation we as the ShareholderÂ’s would have thrown their asses out on the street long ago.

The Fix is In

A near equally divided electorate over the last two Presidential elections is reaching for some change from the status quo and possibly more entertainment. Hillary and Bill is the most radical change they can imagine and offers a large degree of safety, due to a vast network of corporate political boosters. Add those to Howard Dean style grassroots fundraising and this could be the richest campaign in political history - the best Presidents money can buy. Do you suppose the Republicans will come up with a real campaign finance reform plan after this election?
